“Merry Christmas” is back!

Ever since “Merry Christmas” supposedly became politically incorrect, I have been rolling my eyes and making even more efforts to include “Merry Christmas” on everything – cards, blogs, social media, etc.

Folks, December 25 is Christmas.

We don’t go out with friends and family to buy holiday trees. We get a Christmas tree.

We hang Christmas lights. We give each other Christmas presents. We mail Christmas cards. When I go to a party wearing some knit concoction with reindeer, ornaments, Santa Claus and annoying jingle bells hanging from it, it’s because I’m about to rock it at an ugly Christmas sweater party.

Google “December 25” and guess what pops up? Christmas.

I guess the “happy holidays” saga could still be dragging on, so, at least I’m pleased it’s over. But seriously, don’t make me go through that again.

If you want your own holiday, fine; be creative, invent something original and run with it. Jesus did. But don’t try to hijack my Christmas again.

Merry Christmas everybody!
